The System Innovation Platform consists of the Design and Research Lab for Transportation and Mobility and for Human Factors Engineering.
The Design and Research Lab for Transportation and Mobility aims to establish a high-level design laboratory in the field of transportation design in China, providing experimental support for the design of automobiles and other vehicles as well as the teaching of major transportation projects. In addition to teaching and research services, the laboratory also serves the function of social experimental teaching, generating extra conceptual designs and operable experimental teaching topics through university-enterprise cooperation. Led by Associate Professor Liu Zhenyuan, the lab carries out strategic cooperation with SAIC, CNAC and COMAC, and provides new knowledge and new methods for transportation design from basic research fields such as behavioural cognition, human-computer interaction, interaction aesthetics and design process.

The Design and Research Lab for Transportation and Mobility
The Design and Research Lab for Human Factors Engineering aims to establish a high-level laboratory with significant influences in the design and human factors engineering fields at home and abroad, and to provide support for the experiments and teaching in human-centred design. The laboratory is led by Professor Xu Jiang and Professor Liu Long, it has formed a mature lab technology supporting system and contributes greatly to the exploration and design practice focusing on human systems and needs in the new development period. The establishment of the laboratory provides the College with relevant data on human beings, and forwards teaching and research in the College through access to important information on human cognition, information processing, emotional experience and social psychology etc., meeting the urgent needs of teachers and students for human factors equipment. The lab is equipped with 3D force measurement table and handheld 3D laser scanning.
